Full Description
Archaeological investigations on the east side of Bridge Street identified a probable Roman sandstone lined drain. A 5m long section of drain walling comprising roughly squared and dressed stone blocks was recorded and although the full internal width of the drain was not identified it appears the drain was at least 0.60m wide. A second possible section of the drain was recovered close to the junction with Feathers Lane a short distance to the north. (1)
