Full Description
During an archaeological evaluation carried out at MOD Queen’s Park in 1997, a possible Roman period feature was identified within Trench I (1). Sealed by mixed post-medieval deposits containing residual medieval and Roman material, at a depth of 0.7m below the surface, was a sub-rectangular cut containing a sticky clay fill. Although finds from the fill were rare (two rim sherds), they were exclusively Roman in date. The feature was cut into the natural boulder clay (1).
