Full Description
The earliest archaeological feature identified on site was a slightly irregular gully cut directly into the natural subsoil. Only a relatively short length of this feature was uncovered, however, it was apparently an east - west aligned linear cut with a steep turn to the north at it's eastern end. The alignment of this feature was running contra to the natural fall of the topography, which may suggest that it represented something more than a natural water channel. This feature had been filled with sediment similar to the natural subsoil with the addition of charcoal flecks, this fill produced one find, a piece of struck flint indicative of a Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date (1).
