Summary

Several parts of large Roman ditches have been revealed at various times in the area to the north of Grosvenor Park and south of Foregate St. Their exact function is difficult to determine, but they have been interpreted as either having some kind of military function, or as part of a drainage system. They are aligned in only one of two directions, north - south, and southwest - northeast.

Several parts of large Roman ditches have been revealed at various times in the area to the north of Grosvenor Park and south of Foregate St. Their exact function is difficult to determine, but they have been interpreted as either having some kind of military function, or as part of a drainage system.
