Summary
An AD 3rd century Roman Barbarous Radiate coin found along with a hoard of medieval silver coins.
The coinage of the late 3rd Century AD was very poor in quality, consisting largely of silver washed bronzes. Barbarous radiates are forgeries of the antoninianus (or radiate), nominally worth two denarii, indicated by the portrait of the Emperor wearing a "radiate" crown, not a laurel wreath.
