Monument record 7005 - Archaeological Features near Fishpool Lane Farm

A group of features, including a post hole, interpreted as an the remains of a timber agricultural building (1).

The base of a dry stone wall comprising a single course of sandstone 1m long at at least 5m wide. The wall was faced with sandstone blocks with a rubble core inbetween. Associated ironwork suggests a post medieval date (2).

It is possible that these features may be related to the training ground at Ottersbank Farm. They lie along the course of the track (3 & 4). It's also notable that the wall and the possible Bronze Age ditch (CHER 5748) share the same alignment (3).
