Full Description
An amorphous shaped pit, located centrally within Trench 1, was identified during an archaeological evaluation carried out at The Bars, Chester, between 1998 – 1999 (note that the results of this excavation are available only in draft form) (1).The pit fills contained a substantial amount of Roman pottery, metalwork and animal bone. Without a finalised excavation report, no other observations are possible.
