Full Description
A small assemblage of residual Roman pottery was recovered from post-medieval features and deposits during a watching brief carried out over repairs to the boundary wall at 22 City Walls Rd., Chester, in 2011 (1). It seems likely that undisturbed Roman deposits are present below the level impacted by this particular excavation, and that these finds derive from disturbances to those horizons which took place either during the boundary wall’s construction or during the creation of the excavated post-medieval features at this location (1).
