Full Description
Sealed by a sandstone surface dating to the Roman period, a series of cut features were identified in the northeast corner of Grosvenor Park during groundworks for what was then a proposed electricity substation (1). Although the excavated area was small, one feature appeared to be a ditch: running north-south, distinctly V-shaped, narrow and deep, and was filled with sterile sediment (1). The other features were not well defined, but seem to have pit a series of pits of different sizes, all cut into natural (1).
