Full Description
What was identified as a cultivated soil layer, dating to between the first and third centuries, was revealed at various points across the Victoria Infants School site, Cheyney Road, Chester. Scattered sherds of Roman pottery and ceramic building material through this deposit (and later features that truncated it) help to indicate that the area was subject to some level of Roman occupation, probably in the second century (1).
