Summary

Sundial: made of ashlar buff sandstone, probably c1825. . A pair of circular steps with moulded nosing support a partly fluted baluster on an octagonal base. Projecting moulded octagonal capstone carries a now worn copper plate and a simple triangular plate gnomon. The plate has Roman numerals and the initials TL in copper plate lettering (probably for Thomas Legh VI, lord of the manor 1822-29).
