Full Description
A sizable fragment of a kiln prop, possibly medieval, was recovered a during a watching brief (1). The kiln prop has a flared base and a hollow cylindrical body, which survives to a height of between 20-30mm, and is similar to those recovered from the Audlem Kiln site (2). The interior has patches of shiny brown glaze. The exterior has a worn patchy glazed surface (1).
Probably not a kiln prop, but a seventeenth century blackware drinking vessel (3).
