Summary

Grade II listed cottage. Built in the 17th century it is sandstone and brick on a sandstone plinth. At the time of recording, the thatched roof was covered in corrugated iron. It is a one and half storey, two-cell rectangular building with central ridge chimney. It has a boarded door with windows in brick-arched opening to each side. There are also windows in the end and rear walls. A small late 20th century brick extension has been built to the rear. Inside the stone inglenook has a small fire window to the rear.

Full Description

Carden Green, Higher Carden. Cottage, C17. Sandstone and brick on sandstone plinth; thatched roof covered in corrugated iron. A 1.5 storey, two-cell rectangular building with central ridge chimney. Boarded door; small wood casements in brick-arched opening to each side; other windows in end and rear walls are late C20. Small late C20 brick extension to rear. Interior: central lobby entrance.
