Description
Monitoring was undertaken in 1992 of foundation trenches dug for a garage at 29 Queensgate, Castle. Circa 500mm of garden/cultivation soil was observed, this overlay circa 250mm of mixed garden soil and sand, which in turn overlay natural sand. A possible burnt deposit was seen in the southern section at a depth of circa 700mm. (1)
