Description
A level 2 building survey, including photographic recording, was undertaken in 2023 for the farmhouse at Yew Tree Farm prior to its demolition. The building is depicted on the 1844 Tithe Map. The farmhouse is a two-storey L-shaped building principally orientated north-east to south-west with an extension to the north-west elevation at the northern end. The principle elevation lies to the southeast fronting onto Woore Road. The building is constructed from wire-cut red brick bonded by Portland cement in a Flemish Bond. The principal range is a rectangular building orientated northeast to southwest and measuring 12.3m in length by 5.9m in width. The roof is of double pitch with grey slate tiles and slate ridge tiles. To the southwest of centre is a rectangular chimney stack straddling both roof pitches and constructed from machine-made brick bonded by Portland cement with two ornate ceramic chimney pots above.
