Description

An archaeological evaluation was undertaken during May 2010 on the prehistoric hill top enclosure known as Helsby Hillfort, Helsby Hill, Helsby, Cheshire, (SM 25689) NGR SJ 4927 7539. The work was undertaken by the Habitats and Hillforts of Cheshire’s Sandstone Ridge Landscape Partnership Project. The aims of the evaluation were to characterise the archaeological resource and assess the impact of the present management regime within the site.
