Description
Historic building assessment undertaken on St Olave's Church primarily focussing on three contiguous retaining walls adjacent to it. This revealed that the south walls was earlier than the north and west walls and represented part of a structure previously noted during site redevelopment in the 1960s. This is suggested as an integral element of the fortified house erected by Richard the Engineer in the 14th century.
