Description
At some time in 1938 (or perhaps earlier), a group of buildings occupying the former Swan Court were demolished to make way for the Regal Theatre on Love St. (in addition to the Tatler Theatre on Foregate St. ECH2482). The cuts for the new building were made all along the periphery of the site, the southern end was cleared to a width of about forty feet (1). Substantial Roman deposits, including a ditch, were recorded, and were truncated by a series of medieval tan-pits (1).
