Description

An archaeological assessment of the site of the weir was undertaken in connection with proposals to instal a hydro-electric scheme on the weir. The resulting study has shed new light on the history and workings of the weir and associated features as well as discovering a number of previously-unkown early 19th0century illustrations of the weir.
