Description
The trench through for a new drain through the cemetery at Great Budworth parish church was inspected for archaeological remains. The trench ran across the northern part of the graveyard, from the School Room to the western entrance, with a subsidiary run linking to the north aisle of the church. The trench was c 0.7m deep and was cut wholly within the build up os soil in the graveyard; bnatural was not reached. A quantity of disarticulated bone (re-interred on site) was recovered but there was no other material of archaeological interest.
