Description
Archaeological Assessment at the rear of 25 Newgate St., Chester to assess the significance of the sandstone wall and the impact of the proposed fire escape through it. The assessment concluded that a possible early rubble wall core is present at the eastern base area of the wall, and that it represents multiple building phases. It was recommended that the fire door be moved to the west, where there was a truncation of the sandstone wall and modern brick infill.
