Site Event/Activity record ECH4322 - The Lion House, Chester; recording the windows in the west elevation.
Please read our guidance about the use of Cheshire Historic Environment Record data.
Technique(s)
Organisation
Bob Meeson, Historic Buildings Consultant
Date
2003
Description
Despite its location overlooking the street, the curious proportions of the west elevation are probably due to the original concept that this was a side wall, not a main facade. No architectural or structural evidence could be found to confirm that the proportions of the windows in this wall have been substantially altered. Replacement window frames designed to the original proportions would help to improve the appearance of this facade.
