Description
Archaeological evaluation of Crown Farm sand extension site, Oakmere, in 1991. The evaluation comprised documentary research, field walking, selective topographical survey, geophysical survey and trial excavation. Particular attention was given to locating the Roman road between Chester and Manchester which appears to cross the site. An assessment of Gig Hole and Plague Pit shown on the OS 1:10000 map was also given priority. (1)
