Description
Watching brief carried out during development in front of the Queen's School. The work was carried out following an earlier evaluation that recorded evidence of light post medieval industrial activities. The watching brief noted part of the west enclosure wall of the city Gaol that formerly occupied the site. Other remains included post medieval evidence associated with that recorded in the evaluation including evidence of industrial activity sealed by later dumping of clay and turf. The report also includes an examination of the historical data associated with Gaol to provide a possible context for the remains recorded.
