Description

A desk-based assessment carried out in October 2001, for the area currently occupied by the Delamere Street Bus Station, in advance of proposed redevelopment. It was concluded that the site had considerable archaeological significance, likely containing deposits and structural remains associated with continuous occupation from the medieval period onwards, possibly accompanied by evidence of Roman activity.
