Description

The University of Manchester Archaeological Unit was commissioned by The Planning Consultancy on behalf of Redrow Homes to carry out an archaeological assessment of land south of Ledsham Road. Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. This assessment comprised a desk-based study and a walkover of the site. The significance of archaeological sites identified was assessed using the criteria laid down in Annex 4 of Planning Policy Guidance 16 (pPG 16). The assessment also identified Important Hedgerows in accordance with the archaeological and historic criteria of the 1997 Hedgerow Regulations.
