Description
Site visited 28.8.02 but construction of new house yet to start. Conversation with the owner of Pool House revealed much useful information which makes further visits unecessary. He has a painting taken from a 1940's photograph, which shows the mill and extant. Subsequently, the pond was filled with rubbish. Pool House built in the 1980's (by present owner) who imported 600 tonnes of soil, graded the site and built the house - with very deep foundations. He has photographs which show the trenches through the fill of the pond. New home will be on slab laid in the imported material.
