Description
Two trenches excavated by Mr F W Tobias in 1954 in a small open space behind the premises of Richard Jones and Co in advance of known redevelopment in the area.
Evidence from the late 1st century was recorded including a coin of Vespasian and several post holes, stone foundations and Samian ware. This layer probably represents a reconstruction of the timber period.
