Description
At Ebury Place in January 1935, during excavations for a sewer for houses that were under construction at the time, the lower part of a cinerary urn and a bronze coin of the late first or early second century were found. Another, black burnished, jar with obtuse and narrow latticing, third century at the earliest, was perhaps associated with another burial, although no skeletal material was found. The exact position of the find was northeast of 65 Handbridge and 41m east of the street frontage (1).
