Description

63 Bridge St. (Lloyd's Shop), July 1908: in the course of excavating for a drain from Lloyd's Shop (63 Bridge St.) to the north side of St Michael's Church, workmen cut through two sections of a Roman concrete foundation (1). Another source reports that this non-archaeological intervention took place while preparing the site for lavatories (2).
