Description

At some time before 1946, Newstead explored four small areas in his garden at 67 Handbridge. A paved structure was found c33m east of the street frontage and c16.5m from the south boundary to Ebury Place. The paved area was 4.9m long and constructed of a single layer of sandstone. Finds of Samian and coarse ware, including a fragment of a Samian dish (Form 31) and a fragment of a frilled vessel (1).
