Description:
First Catholic Church in Ellesmere Port. Originated in 1909 to serve the workers of the Wolverhampton Corrugated Iron Co. Replaced in 1931 with dark brown brick building.
Planned on southwest to northeast axis with entrance in south and chancel in east. Nave four bays long with main entrance in southeast elevation. Cross-shaped finial to southwest gable with large star patterned window overlooking Whitby Road. Semi circular window openings in each bay separated by decorative brick columns. Gables to and ends of main transept decorated with tall arched windows.
Interior: Wide span roof supported by steel trusses on unusual pale brick. Original radiators art deco in design.
