Description

Eleanor School LL36 (Previously LL GS/5) Address: Old Chester Road, Great Sutton Architect: David Walker Date: 1880 Description Built as a Church School alongside the Church of St John Evangelist. Built in the manner of a Victorian “Gothic” church, with porch, steep pitched slated roof with decorative terracotta red ridge tiles. Stone parapet to gables, rusticated coursed stone walls with Ashlar splayed plinth. Unusual pyramidal bell tower. Name of school inscribed in decorative panel to spandrel of end gable. Condition Fair. Current use No longer in use as a school, now used for mother and toddler groups etc. Updated March 2007
