Description

Lydiate Cottage LL27 (Previously LL WN/3) Address: Lydiate Lane, Willaston Architect: Not known Date: 1858 (date stone to front elevation) Description Mid-Victorian villa with stables and outbuildings. Pitched slate roof, banded mixture of blue/grey Welsh slates and shaped Westmorland green slate. Large sandstone decorative chimneys to front and rear. Walls, rusticated coursed local sandstone. Single small pitched gable to front first floor above 4 pane hinged casement window. Distinctive monopitch slated porch/verandah to ground floor front elevation, single square timber supports, painted white with arched brackets parallel to eaves. Condition Good. Current use In use as a domestic dwelling/smallholding. Updated April 2007
