The Gauging Dock

Description
Originally a double bay twin pitched roof building with a single canal arm within the northern most bay, sufficient to accommodate a full length (72’ or 21.9m) narrow boat.
The construction is typical of the canal port. Formerly a slate covered (missing at present) pitched roof, blue brick piers projecting from red brick bays, with decorative dogtooth brickwork to the head of the gable end bays.
The entrance to the dock is at present bricked up. The rear wall of the double bay still exists as part of a much altered workshop.
Within the curtilage of the docks listed buildings.
