Description

Village/Town: Bollington Railway Viaduct Wellington Road SK10 5NJ In 1869 a branch line was constructed to Marple, through Bollington and Poynton. The line was opened in a bid to revive the Bollington cotton industry. The 23 arch viaduct is a local landmark and a stark reminder of Bollingtons’ industrial past.
