Description

CHESTER CITY (IM) SJ4065NE BRIDGE PLACE 595-1/6/34 (East side) 28/07/55 Nos.7, 9 AND 11 and railings to forecourt (Formerly Listed as: BRIDGE PLACE Nos.1-11 AND 13 (Odd)) GV II Row of 3 town houses. Later C18, of Flemish bond brown brick with a hipped grey slate roof to each house with ridge at right angle to the front. Each house has a wrought-iron railed forecourt with stone steps down to cellar door beneath the front door; lined render to cellar fronts. 3 stone steps to front door of No.7, four each to Nos 9 & 11; doors of 4 fielded panels above 2 flush panels with ornamented and looped radial-bar fanlights and pedimented cases with dentilled and modillioned cornices, those to Nos 7 & 9 having fluted and gadrooned pilasters and No.11 attached slender unfluted Roman Doric columns. Windows have painted stone sills, a sillband to the second storey and wedge lintels, one tripartite flush sash of 4;12;4 panes to each storey of each house, some replaced and horned. Painted stone cornice and parapet course; 2 brick chimneys. The rear has miscellaneous sashes, and a leaded casement to the attic of No.7. INTERIOR not inspected. Listing NGR: SJ4068865854
