Small country house. c1700. Stone-dressed brick with hipped grey slate roof. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus basement and loft; 5 windows, symmetrical. Plinth with flush quoins and moulded cap; rusticated quoins above plinth. Damaged flight of 6 stone steps to entrance; door boarded up, in stone case with eared architraves; 2 boarded-up sashes in stone cases to each side of door. First-floor band with moulded lower arris. The entrance-bay projects slightly; wall sundial above door-case. 5 formerly flush sashes, destroyed except sash-boxes; internal panelled shutters visible; stone architrave to central sash. Large stone cornice to eaves; vandalised parapet has stone quoins and parts of cap. Replaced flat-roofed central dormer; small dormer with raked roof to each side. The west side has boarded stone-cased basement windows, 2 boarded sashes to ground floor, 2 badly damaged cross-windows to first floor, gauged brick flat arches; 3-course brick floorbands. 2 rear wings. The east side has a 1-storey flat-roofed wing, later, with 2 large boarded-up windows under long gauged-brick flat arches; a 3-light boarded basement window before the wing; 3 damaged sashes to first floor. Chimneys with arched panels in late C17 manner. INTERIOR not inspected. Building vacant at time of survey (June 1992).
