6/35 The Pheasant Inn
II
Formerly farmhouse, now public house: late C16, C18 extension and C20 alterations and extensions. Mostly timber-framed with brick nogging on stone plinth. Portion in sandstone blocks. Welsh slate roof, 1 lateral ashlar chimney with brick diamond stalks, 1 ridge chimney. 2-storey, 5-bay south front. Core has tall narrow small framing with small C20 windows (1 raking dormer) and a new central door with timber hood. Left end bay, taller and in stone. Added brick range to rear. Interior: Timber framing visible in bar and C18 black moulded stone fireplace. Lateral chimney has kitchen range inserted to rear and has lost original surround to front. Smoking oven survives in upper storey.
