Description
BICKLEY C.P. TARPORLEY ROAD A49 SJ 54 NW (East Side) 3/11 Bickley Moss Cottage II 2 cottages converted into 1 dwelling, 1673, much altered internally. Brick-nogged (until late C20 partly wattle and daub) oak small framing with thatched roof. 1 storey plus attic bedrooms, L-shaped; each wing has been a separate cottage. Front wing has inserted canted 1-storey hipped slate-roofed bay window with thatched gabled half-dormer above. Door, inserted (?), left, under open gabled porch on brackets with small 1-pane casement above. All casements replaced, in keeping. Former ridge chimney in front wing is wholly removed. Beam at left end carved I.O.W: 1673. Casements in gables. Rear wing of 3 windows has C20 boarded door of oak and gabled porch, 1 gabled dormer, a ridge chimney and a flush gable chimney; 2 "eyebrow" dormers in garden side of rear wing.
