Farmhouse: late C16 with early C19 brick skin and additions and later C19 alterations. Timber-framed, but clad in rendered red-brick. Kerridge stone-slate steeply pitched roof with 4 brick chimneys. Originally of 3-bays, timber-framed with lateral stack, 2 short ranges added at right is angled to the south. 2 storeys. All openings now later C19 casements and door frames except for 2, 16-pane sashes on additions. Interior: Timber frame almost intact and revealed in most rooms. Most ceiling beams are chamfered. Massive brick fireplace in kitchen with segmental arch and small stone benches inside. 2 original roof trusses of a tie-beam, 2 short, diagonal struts and a collar above. Overlapping through purlins and ridge.
This was a subordinate manor of the Warren's of Poynton Hall.
