Public house, but probably originally dwelling. Late C16 or early C17, refronted early C19. Timber-framed internally, with render over brick to frontage and coursed rubble to rear wing. 3-storeyed main range with rear wing. Main range to street a 5-window range built over wide passage way to right. Inserted late C19 public house front with central doorway, and 12-pane sash windows above. In the gable of the rear wing, some original fenestration survives, with 2 stone mullioned windows with iron lattice glazing. INTERIOR extensively altered, but some original features have been retained, including moulded ceiling beams and heavy early C17 staircase.
