Description

WINCLE C.P. SJ 96 NE 2/53 Hammerton Farmhouse II Farmhouse, early C18, of yellow coursed rubble gritstone with Kerridge stone-slate roof. Of 2 storeys and 3 windows. Double-pile roof has coped gables with cyma kneelers and gable chimneys of stone with cavetto caps. 3-light windows with flush stone mullions of square section externally, chamfered within. Round-headed single-light window (above doorway) has simply-moulded stone case on corbel brackets; keystone. Modern glazed door in renewed opening of stone. Rear has stone-mullioned windows similar to those at front. The casements are C20, of wood, in unaltered openings. Interior. Good early C18 moulded stone fireplace with overmantel on stone consoles. Dogleg stair with wavy splat balusters. Chamfered oak beams. Doors to main bedrooms are of oak with boarded panels, heavy stiles and shallow top and bottom rails. Listing NGR: SJ9604666211
