Description

SJ 97 NW PRESTBURY C.P. 5/208 & 6/208 The Manor House THE VILLAGE (West Side) GV II Formerly the vicarage, now a house: dated 1708 with later C19 extensions and alterations. Pebble dashed walls, Kerridge stone-slate roof, 4 pebble dashed chimneys. Originally rectangular in plan, now L-shaped. 2 storeys over basement, symmetrical 4 bay front. Band at 1st floor. Windows are recessed 4-pane sashes in simple narrow stone surrounds. Has a central triangular pediment, above datestone reading WF (for William Foxlowe) 1708. Door in left side in later C19 wing and is approached by a flight of steps with wooden balusters. Interior: Not inspected. Listing NGR: SJ9001176994
