C16-C17. Timber framed and plaster restored painted black and white; 2 storeys plus attic; 2 gables to street with restored barge boards; over- hanging attics; good gabled end to returned side in Castle Street with 2 bold overhangs; corbels carved with human figures and animals; 2 8-light wood mullioned and transomed casement windows, probably C17, with leaded lights; slates. 1st floor room to left of front retains some contemporary panelling and enriched plasterwork. Probably built after the Great Fire of 1585.
Nos 42 to 52 (even) form a group.
