Description
ACTON C.P. MONKS LANE SJ 65 SW 4/18 Sundial in St.Mary's Churchyard north-east of - the Church. GV II
Sundial, late Cl7, but involving the use of a medieval cross shaft. Red sandstone with wrought iron pointers. An old three-step base supports a deep ogee moulded block and an octagonal cross shaft with moulded cap. A cube of stone, with wrought iron pointers on the four vertical faces, sits on top of the cross shaft. A ball finial, on a slender round support, completes the arrangement.
