6/14 Threshing Barn at Daintiths Farm
GV II
Threshing Barn (now a store shed) probably late C17 with C19 alterations. Brown brick (English garden wall bond) with a graded grey slate roof. Two storeys with C19 single storey former shippon, right. Threshing porches front and rear have pentice roofs on buttresses, triangular in plan. Double boarded doors at front under sinuous brick arch; the rear opening is bricked up. C19 circular pitch-holes to loft and camber-arched windows and doors to lower storey at front. Blocked opening under brick label of C17 type in west gable.
Interior: Oak kingpost trusses with fishbone struts and straight windbraces have incised Roman numerals at joints; unsawn oak purlins. Late C20 chipboard first floor on C19 joists.
