2. Corner of Market Street. Built 1561, altered and extended C19. Market Place front is of black and white work (more black than white) on a red sandstone base, with 2 gables of small patterns, and 2 rows of continuous small-paned windows. Passage at left (adjoining No 13) has timber beams. Gable of old wing visible, but a brick extension has been built in front of it along Market Street (qv for side façade).
All the listed buildings in the Market Place form a group with the side façade of Ye Olde Barley Mow Public House in Market street.
