2/92 Brick Sewer Vent
II
Sewer ventilating shaft possibly by J.S.Sinclair Engineer circa 1893. Red brick with blue brick plinth standing approximately thirty feet high and four feet square internally. The shaft tapers upwards, and has narrow sunken features on each face, two in the lower half, with rounded heads, one to the upper part with keystone. The vent has a weathered projecting cap with corbel support. The only remaining shaft of an early sewage system designed to take effluent from the chemical industry.
