Abstract/Summary
A heritage assessment was produced in 2017 for St Mary's School, 2 Overleigh Road, in advance of proposed re-development including partial demolition and rebuilding, retaining the frontage to Overleigh Road. The school appears to have been erected in 1876 and extended in 1887. It had links with the church of St Mary-without-the-Walls which was built with funds from the 1st Duke of Westminster. In 1946 it became a primary school, which closed in 2002 and became a community nursery. Since October 2014 the building has been vacant.
